About Limitless
Base is Coinbase's own layer-2 network, and Limitless settles directly on it, non-custodially, with no identity check required to trade at all. That puts it in the fast, low-friction bracket of on-chain prediction markets: positions settle instantly in USDC, there is no platform trading fee beyond ordinary Base network gas, and there is effectively no deposit minimum given the entirely on-chain structure. For a trader who already holds USDC and just wants to move straight into a position, the whole process happens with very little in the way of preliminary steps.
What sets Limitless apart is really the mix of market types sitting side by side on one platform. Short-term crypto price bets that resolve within hours trade next to considerably longer-running questions on the World Cup, elections and broader macroeconomic releases, which is a wider time horizon than most crypto-native venues attempt to cover in a single place. That range gives it a slightly different character from platforms that pick one time horizon and stick to it, letting the same account handle both a same-day crypto call and a months-out election position.
It is not available to US users, and funding runs through USDC or other crypto rather than fiat rails, so it is built squarely for people already comfortable holding and moving cryptocurrency rather than newcomers funding an account by card. There is no dedicated app listed for it, so access runs through the web, and the whole experience assumes a level of crypto fluency that not every prediction-market user will have. That is the implicit cost of the instant, fee-light settlement it offers: convenience for crypto natives, a real learning curve for everyone else.
